When to book
When should I buy my all inclusive honeymoon package? Should I book now or wait? These are our 2 most frequently asked questions. There is not one answer for everyone, but we’ll try to help you with this one.
First, how set are you on WHEN and WHERE you want to go.
If you are locked into dates, then it’s more important for you to try to get a decent airfare early. You can wait until the last minute and you might get lucky, but often times the airfare will double or triple close to the departure date. If you want to go some week between May and September, you can wait. Since May to September are the wedding months, the resorts we feature tend to sell out first, so book as soon as you can.
How flexible are you with your resort and room? If you want the Romeo and Juliet Suite at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios, book now. If you just want a nice room at a nice resort in Cancun, you can wait.
Why do resorts say you have to book by Thursday, then the next day the sale has been extended for 2 weeks again? Be very careful feeling secure that your date will still have the same sale rate. Resorts are using more technology to manage their occupancies. They might extend the sale, but unless you’re checking your specific dates, you might not notice that your dates are not applicable for the maximum savings anymore. Every deadline gives the resorts a chance to see what occupancies look like for every single day. When the occupancy reaches a certain level, that day’s rate will cost more.
With the economy, won’t resorts start practically giving rooms away? We aren’t economists, so we can’t say for sure, but we think they are about as low as they can go. We have resorts 65% Off (Sandals Grande Ocho Rios). We have resorts that are 50% Off , plus throwing in $500 resort credits (Couples Sans Souci). These rates are the lowest we’ve seen.
