Cancun, Riviera Maya, Puerto Vallarta & Los Cabos are Safe
If you are planning on traveling to Mexico soon or have been contemplating planning a trip to Mexico, Honeymoons, Inc. encourages you to go or to continue with your plans. The tourist areas have not been affected by the news you might have seen recently about increased violence in Mexico.
Cancun, Riviera Maya, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos are 4 of our most popular destinations, and none have reported increased violence.
I myself just returned from the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas, where thousands of tourists were enjoying themselves at the resort and in downtown, where we spent time twice. The worst part of the vacation was flying from the 85F temperature back home to 40F.
To help educate you and in hopes of putting your minds at ease, please read the letters below and follow the links to be totally informed.

As you may know, the U.S. Department of State recently issued a Travel Alert, warning of increased violence and drug-related conflicts taking place in several border towns of Mexico. Intensified criminal activity in Tijuana, Ciudad Juarez, and the City of Chihuahua, among other border locations, is documented on the Department of State’s website–www.travel.state.gov.
Apple Vacations has sent tens of thousands of travelers to the major Mexico resort areas over the past few months without incident. Our Vacation Satisfaction Survey results confirm that our clients are enjoying a very positive vacation experience in Mexico, and would recommend their destination to friends and family. Apple’s vacation satisfaction scores from clients traveling to Mexico in 2009 actually exceeded previous levels.
Apple Vacations is in daily contact with Amstar DMC, our destination management company, with hundreds of Apple Vacations Resort Representatives in Mexico to
serve your clients. They too have confirmed that the resort areas have not been affected. Of course, when vacationing anywhere, visitors are encouraged to stay in the tourist areas and exercise common sense and proper precautions.
As always, we thank you for your support, and hope that you will continue to sell our Mexico vacation destinations with confidence.Sincerely,
Kevin Martin, Director of Sales, Apple Vacations
