Tighten your honeymoon budget

Honeymoon Couples in 2009 are watching every dollar they spend. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your honeymoon dollar.
1. Use our honeymoon registry. Let others help pay for your honeymoon and forget the new toaster.
2. Certain islands or locations are just less expensive than others. Jamaica, Punta Cana, Cancun and all the Mexican coast destinations are less expensive than other islands. These destinations have more resorts, which provide more competition. They also have more flights, which results in cheaper flights. At honeymoonsinc.com, just put in your dates and you can price all your options at one time at each destination.
3. Resist the temptation to save a little money up front with a non-inclusive resort or a cruise. You may save a little up front, but you tend to lose your frugality when you’re on a honeymoon in the tropics. You’ll come back with much more on your credit card than you saved to begin with. Or even worse, you don’t lose your frugality and you spend your honeymoon limiting your meals and activities.
4. Shorten your stay or downgrade your resort? This should be a joint decision. My wife and I compromise on this one with every vacation we take. I want to stay for a month, and the room doesn’t matter too much. I need a nice beach, a pool, and some edible food. She, on the other hand, would rather stay for a few nights in a nice suite, and the food better be tasty and well presented.
